ʀᴀᴍᴀɴ ᴇғғᴇᴄᴛ :

Raman effect was introduced by Sir C.V Raman . It includes change in the wavelength of light that occurs only when a light beam is deflected by molecules . when a beam of light transversely a dust - free , transparent sample of a chemical compound , a small fraction of light emerges in the direction other than incident beam or incoming beam !

Raman Effect for its excellence won the nobel Prize in the year 1930 for its work on scattering of light .

It was also designated as a national Historic Chemical Landmark by the American Chemical Society in recoginisation of it significance as a tool for composition of liquids , gases & solids .

It also raised Awarness about the importance of science in everyday life .

Answer:

Raman scattering or the Raman effect is the inelastic scattering of photons by matter, meaning that there is an exchange of energy and a change in the light's direction. Typically this involves vibrational energy being gained by a molecule as incident photons from a visible laser are shifted to lower energy.
