The Ranacracy or Ranaism is the ruling idea proposed by the ancient kings and prime ministers of Nepal at the period of 1800.

In ranacracy, the king will rule the country whereas the prime minister will have more power than the king.

Ranacracy was demised in Nepal because of the people.

The people of Nepal were influenced by the freedom movement done by the Indian people and the formation of democratic government formed in the country made them to protest in their country to propose the democratic government in their country too.

Answer:

what is Ranacracy ?

Thus started a century of 'Ranacracy' or 'Ranaism'. The Rana monarchs maintained the dictatorial nature of the politico-administrative system, with the Rana prime minister becoming the source of power. Members of the Rana family supplanted the ancient nobility who had held political and administrative offices during the Shah's reign.

Factors contributed to its demise in Nepal

Nepal has seen shift in disease pattern from high to low burden of infectious disease and increasing burden of NCDs [4]. Between 1990 and 2017, the life expectancy of the Nepalese population increased by 12.6 years from 58.3 to 70.9 years. In line with life expectancy, years of healthy life also increased by 11.3 years from 49.8 to 61.1 years in the same period [5]. Attributing two thirds (66%) of total deaths, NCDs are now the leading causes of death in Nepal and additional 9% of deaths are due to injuries (including unintentional injuries, transport injuries, self-harm and violence, war and disaster). CMNN diseases attribute the remaining 25% of the deaths.

Conclusion

In 1990, CMNN diseases were the major cause of mortality in Nepal, accounting for around two out of every three deaths (63.60%, 95% UI: 58.63-68.07). NCDs were responsible for approximately one-third of all deaths during the same time period (29.91%, 95% UI: 26.00-34.12). By 2015, NCDs had become the leading cause of mortality (63.21%, 95% UI: 59.25-66.75), with CMNN illnesses accounting for less than a third of all fatalities (26.8%, 95% UI: 23.30-31.18). NCDs are expected to cause nearly four out of every five fatalities in the country by 2040 (78.64%, 95% UI: 70.37-83.50). Meanwhile, the predicted total number of deaths from CMNN disease in the same year would have decreased further, with approximately one in ten deaths.
