The ratio of root mean square velocity of H2 and N2 at same temperature will be 3.74 : 1

Explanation :

We know that root mean square velocity is given by :

Crms = \sqrt{\frac{3RT}{M} }

where R = gas constant,

T = temperature

M = molecular mass

Hence for hydrogen

C₁ = √(3RT/2x10⁻³)

for nitrogen

C₂ = √(3RT/28x10⁻³)

Hence their ratio will be

C₁ : C₂ = √(3RT/2x10⁻³) : √(3RT/28x10⁻³) = √(14:1) = 3.74 : 1

Hence the ratio of root mean square velocity of H2 and N2 at same temperature will be 3.74 : 1
