Molar mass of methane = 16 g/mol

Molar mass of carbon = 12

Mass of 4 moles of hydrogen in methane = 4

Now, mass percent of carbon = \frac{12}{16} x 100 = 75%

Now, mass percent of hydrogen = \frac{4}{16} x 100 = 25%
