Below are some properties which a rational number carries ,

Numbers which could be expressed in the form of p/q where  \rm q \neq 0

⚝ Numbers whose decimal expansion terminates(stop at a position )

⚝ Number whose decimal expansion is non- terminating repeating.

For example of rational number :

⇰ 4 is a rational number as it could be expressed in the form of p/q as 4/1 where denominator is  \rm \neq 0

⇰ 2/5 is also a rational number as its decimal expansion terminates as 2/5 = 0.4

⇰ 4/6 is also a rational number as its decimal expansion is non terminating but repeating as 4/6 = 0.66666666...
