1. These cells are produced in the bone marrow which are released into the bloodstream as they mature.

2.RBC's typically make up to about 40% of the blood volume. RBC's contain hemoglobin.

3. A protein that binds with oxygen and enables RBC's to carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and organs of the body.

Erythrocytes or red blood cells are most abundant of all the cells in blood. They have a red coloured , iron containing complex protein called haemoglobin .
These molecules play a role in transport of respiratory gases.
RBC is formed in red bone marrow .
