French Revolution is said to be based on a chain of events starting from the even when on 14 July 1789 king had commanded the troops to enter in the city.
Rumors were spread that they will open fire on the people. So, people formed a people's militia and attacked on governmental buildings to find hoarded arms.
Later they stormed the fort of Bastille and killed the commander. All of the prisoners were released and the fort was demolished. Later on it was followed by riots in countryside.
