rectellinear propagation of light means that light always travels in a straight line.....
becoz light always tends to take the quickest path between two points and the quickest path between two line happens to be a straight line and that's the reason for rectellinear propagation of light.....

ex -take a straight you will easily the other side and also a place a candle on other side you are you able to see candle.
take a curved rod you are unsble to see the lcandle because light travels in a straight line
