the reaction in which oxidation and reductions both the reactions take place simultanuously are called redox reaction.
CuO + H2----> Cu + H2O
in this reaction copper oxide is reduced to Copper and hydrogen is oxidised to water (H2O)
hope this will help you

Answer:

A chemical reaction in which oxidation and reduction take place simultaneously is called a redox reaction.

In reduction, electrons are gained.

In oxidation, electrons are lost.

For example-

  1. Fe+CuSO_4FeSO_4+Cu
  2. Na+HClNaCl+H_2

In the first example, iron has reduced copper from its salt and itself underwent oxidation. We got copper metal and ferrous sulfate.

In the second example, sodium has reduced hydrogen from hydrochloric acid and itself underwent oxidation. We got sodium chloride and hydrogen.
