Oxidation: Addition of oxygen and  Loss of electrons.
Reduction: Removal of oxygen and addition of electrons.

Redox: The reactions in which both OXIDATION and REDUCTION takes place is called Redox reaction.

eg - 2 Mg + O2 ---> 2 Mg O
