Redox reaction” is a shortened version of “Reduction-Oxidation reaction.” In the simplest terms, it refers to the net transfer of one or more electrons from one chemical species (molecule, ion, atom) to another. As an example, the reduction of cerium (IV) and oxidation of Fe(II) is an example of a redox reaction.

Ce4+ (aq) + Fe2+ (aq) → Ce3+ (aq) + Fe3+ (aq).

Hii There!!

Redox Reaction:- Oxidation and reduction reactions takes place simultaneously .
Such reaction is known as Redox Reaction.

Example:-
CO2+H2------->CO+H2O
Its a reversible reaction.

Here, Carbondioxide is reduced to carbon-monoxide and Hydrogen is oxidised to water

Hope it helps
