This is a direct vote in which an entire electorate is asked to either accept or reject a particular proposal, issue or question. A referendum may result in the adoption of a new constitution, a constitutional amendment, a law, the recall of an elected official or a specific government policy.

Hello Mate!

Refrandum is some what like election but not truly an election. In refrandum voting assistants go to door and door of people and ask that which party they support and give a final decission who is the winner. In case of Pakistan, refrandum was done with a wrong manner and leader was declared.

If we talk about election then they are publically open and counting take place. Peolple vote with help of ballet paper or EVM to choose their representatives. In election, its hardly possible to be cheated as each vote is saved by the person.

If we compare refrandum from election then elections are more preferable because on refrandum, its not necessary that person collection views from person is actually loyal. For example :- If a voting commitee person as from a common man which team you want, A or B, and common said B. But if the that commitee person is in nagotiation with A's party then he will write A instead of B. Some thing similar to this happened in Pakistan. In election, as every thhing is publically annonced and done, so there is less chance of injustice.

Hope it helps☺!✌
