Absolutism refers to believing and holding absolute principles in theological, philosophical and political matters.

Explanation:

  • This principle promotes that the overall or absolute right or power of a state only lied in the hands of an authority figure like King, who was even given the right to rule over the spiritual divinity.
  • In this principle, the king is considered to be the almighty and his rule is the last word that dominates the land.
  • France observed absolutism from 1643 to that of 1715 when its monarch King Louis XIV ruled in absolute authority.
