in 1852, Louis napoleon 3 crowned himself as the emperor and with great vigor began the rebuilding of Paris.baron hausseman the chief arcitect was the prefct if the seine.his name came to represent the forced reconstruction of cities to increase their beauty.
17 years later Paris was rebuilt.1/5th of the city was haussman's creations.the process had created large number of employment opportunities.however,the poor were displaced or evicted from the place to enhance the beauty of the city and to prevent the possibilities of social rebellion.long avenues and streets were made and full grown tree were transplanted.tap water was introduced, bus shelters made,policemen were employed and night patrol was started.
