the refining of petroleum is done to get the most of the crude oil and to use it efficiently as it takes lot of effort to get ityhe four main components of petroleum are..
1. petrol ------ used as a fuel
2. diesel-------- also used as a fuel
3. kerosene----- it is also used as a fuel
4. Paraffin wax--- used to make medicines

The separation of various vomponents from petroleum by using refinery tanks is called refining of petroleum.
We get coal, petroleum, natural gas

Coal is used as fuel for cooking and industrial purposes. Also used in thermal power plants to produce electricity. Used in rail engines to produce steam. From coal we get coke,coal gas,coal tar,ammonia.

Petroleum- we get petrol,diesel, kerosene.
Natural gas- we get CNG,LG.
