Hey mate..
=======

▪''Reflex'' is a word which we commonly use when we talk about sudden actions in response to something in the environment.

▪Reflex action is a spontaneous immediate response to the stimuli which doesn't involve any thinking. For example --> When we touch a glass of hot water, we withdraw our hands immediately without thinking as thinking would take time which would be enough to get us burnt.

▪The sensory nerves that detect the heat are connected to the nerves that move the muscles of our hand ( motor nerves ).This process of detecting the signal (input) and responding to it quickly (output) are called reflex arc. The reflex arc connections present between the input and output nerves meet in a bundle in the spinal cord.

▪Reflex arcs are formed in this spinal cord itself although the information goes on to reach the brain.

▪Reflex arcs have involved in animals as the thinking process of brain is not fast enough. In fact, many animals have very little or none of the complex neuron networks needed for thinking.So, it is quite likely that reflex arcs have evolved as efficient ways of functioning in the absence of true thought process.However, even after complex neuron networks have come into existence, reflex arcs continue to be more efficient in quicK responses.

Hope it helps !
