Heya,

Refraction

It is a phenomenon in which direction of propagation of light changes when it passes from one transparent medium to another. This is because, the Speed of light is different in different media.

There are two laws of refraction and they are:

(1) The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal at the point of incidence, all lie in the same plane.

(2) The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to sine of angle of refraction is constant, for the light of a given colour and given pair of media.

Hope this helps....:)

Refraction

  • The shift in direction of a wave induced by a change in its speed is referred to as refraction.
  • Sound waves and light waves are two such examples of waves.
  • Refraction occurs most frequently when a signal travels from one transparent material to another.
  • When waves bounce against a barrier, the direction of the waves changes.
  • Water and air are two examples of mediums.
