The phenomenon of bending of light ray at the boundary of two mediums when it goes from one medium to other is known as Refraction of light.

Laws of Refraction:

1. Incident ray, refracted ray and normal at the point of incidence all lie in the same plane.

2. The ratio of sine of angle of incidence and sine of angle of refraction is constant which is known as the refractive index of first medium with respect to second medium. It is represented by u.

This law is called snell's law
