What is refraction? Why does a ray of light bends on refraction? Will red coloured light and blue colour light band equal or not? Give reasons.

the change in the path of light when it goes from a rarer medium to a denser medium is called refraction.  light bends on refraction because the speed of light gets decreased from its original speed. no red color has the highest wavelength and blue has a shorter wavelength, this is why red lights are used in signals as they dont get refracted a lot in fog or mist

when a tay of light travel from one transparent medium to another transparent medium in oblique direction it bend away from its path . this bending is called refraction.

a light bend on refraction due to refraction property and also because it passes from one medium to medium.

no red light and blue light band will not bend equally due to its dispersion through a prism I.e. from dense to rare medium
