ANSWER :

Regeneration is the ability of a fully differentiated organism to give rise to new individual organisms from its body parts. More complex organisms cannot give rise to new individuals through regeneration because:

▶️(i) their body is highly complicated.

▶️(ii) there are specific organs to do specific functions.

▶️(iii) there is a labour division in the body of complex organisms.

▶️(iv) regeneration is carried out by specialised cells which are not present in complex organisms.

Heya...

Definition:

Regeneration is the ability to replace the lost or damaged body parts. Plants can regenerate all body parts from the precursor cells. Many trees, for example, can be cut off at the ground and in due course, sprouts appear. These go on to develop the new stem, leaves and flowers. So, regeneration is a process of restoration and growth and also a process of renewal.

why a more complex organism cannot give rise to new individuals through this method.:

Tissues in complex organisms show high degree of differentiation into organs and organ systems specialized to carry out a specific function only. Therefore, they are incapable of complete regeneration. However damaged tissues can regenerate themselves as and when required, except for the cells of the Cornea, the heart and the nervous system

hope it helps you
