from a smooth surface like that of a mirror is called regular reflection reflection. ... images are formed by theregular reflection of light diffused. or irregular reflection takes place. when a ray of light is incident on a surface. such as wall or wood which is not smooth or polished an image.

(iii) Regular and Irregular Reflection : Regular Reflection – The phenomenon due to which a parallel beam of light travelling through a certain medium, on striking some smooth polished surface, bounces off from it, as parallel beam, in some other fixed direction is called Regular reflection.

#aNsWer ➡ Reflection is what allows us to see things. Light, from a souce such as a light globe or the Sun, strikes the objects and is reflected back to our eyes. There are two main types of reflection: diffuse reflection and regular reflection. See the diagram below. 

Regular reflection:1. Reflection from a polished surface is called regular reflection. 2. The rays are parallel. 3. Give glaze to our eyes. 4. Example, plain mirror. 

Diffused Reflection:1. Reflection from a rough surface is called diffuse reflection.2. The rays are not parallel. 3. It makes objects visible. 4. Example, wall.
