Regur soil is the other name of black soil . Following are the two features of regur soil - :

  1. The regur soils are made up of clayey material . Black soil is known for its capacity to hold moisture and is rich in calcium carbonate ,magnesium, potash and lime .
  2. They develop deep cracks during hot weather . When the soils are wet, they are very sticky and difficult to work on unless tiled immediately.

The Ruger soils are found in the Deccan trap , which is spread over North - West Deccan plateau . It is found in peninsular India, particularly in the states of Maharashtra, Saurashtra ,Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat .
