Relative Afferent Pupillary Defect (RAPD) is a condition in which pupils respond differently to light stimuli shone in one eye at a time due to unilateral or asymmetrical disease of the retina or optic nerve.

Answer:

The Relative Afferent Pupillary Defect( RAPD) is a defect in the eye that causes a difference in the response of both the eyes whenever a light is incident on an eye.

In normal eyes, the reaction of both the eyes is linked which results in dilation of pupils of both the eyes whenever a bright light is shone.

This defect can be detected using the 'swinging light test'.
