★ HERE IS YOUR ANSWER ★

Relative velocity is a measurement of velocity between two objects moving in different frames of reference. It is especially important in special relativity where there is no such thing as absolute motion, thus making all motion and therefore velocities relative. Since velocity is the change in position with respect to time, two velocities, v and w could be alternatively written as the derivative of the position with respect to time.

Hey folk,

RELATIVE VELOCITY

» Velocity of a body with respect to another body

» Units amd dimensions of relative velocity are the same as that of velocity

» Consider two bodies, A and B moving with a velocity V-A and V-B

» Velocity of A w.r.t to B = V-AB

= V-A - V-B [ If A and B are in same direction ]

= VA + VB [ If A and B are in different direction]
