Answer:

The renin–angiotensin system (RAS), or renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS), is a hormone system that regulates blood pressure and fluid and electrolyte balance, as well as systemic vascular resistance. ... Angiotensin II also stimulates the secretion of the hormone aldosterone from the adrenal cortex.

What is Renin ?

\bullet An enzyme that takes part in renin-angiotensin aldosterone system.

\bullet It is also known as angiotensinogenase.

Renin-angiotensin system:

When GFR falls, Juxtaglomerular Apparatus (JG) cells release renin. Renin converts angiotensinogen into angiotensin I and then to angiotensin II.

Note: Check these attachments!

Angiotensin II constricts the blood vessels to increase blood pressure and hence GFR.

It activates adrenal cortex, in order to release aldosterone that causes re-absorption of \sf{Na^{+}} and \sf{H_{2}O} from tubule.

It results in an increase in blood pressure and hence GFR.
