The DNA replication bubble is the structure that the DNA has where it is being unwinded . The bubble forms when the DNA unwinds at the replication origin ( there is one in the prokaryotes and more than one in eukaryotes , due to their bigger genome the DNA is replicated at different points in the same moment ) . This structure allows the DNA polymerase to start replicating (from 5′ to 3′ ) using the ssDNA as template .
