What is reproduction....???

  • It is a biological process by which all living organisms give rise to new individuals of their own species.

  • There are two types of reproduction :

1. Asexual reproduction :

  • When a single parent is involved in the formation of a new individual, without the fusion of gamete's called asexual reproduction.

  • Types of asexual reproduction :

i) Fission

ii) Budding

iii) Spore formation

iv) Regeneration

v) Fragmentation

vi) Vegetative propagation

2. Sexual Reproduction :

  • Sexual reproduction is a process of combining DNA from 2 different individuals during reproduction.

  • This is brought about by fusion of the male and female gametes.
