Reproduction is the process of formation of new individuals by sexual or asexual means.
There are two types of reproduction- Asexual reproduction and Sexual reproduction.
Sexual reproduction results in the formation of new characteristics because in this type of reproduction the male and female gametes fuse to form the zygote. Hence the offspring inherits features from both the parents and hence is not identical to them. Whereas in asexual reproduction the offspring is identical to the parent as there is no mixing of male and female gametes.

sexual reproduction confers new characteristics on offspring because their.. is a fusion of male and female gametes and new individuals are not identical to the parent but in asexual reproduction no gametes fusion no zygote formation.. and new individuals are not identical to parents but.. in sexual reproduction.. their is zygote formation is also involved..
