Some constituencies are reserved for the people who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. In an SC-reserved constituency, only someone who belongs to the scheduled caste can stand for elections.

as much as I known..
In India there is a large population of schedule tribes nd schedule caste..nd in starting they were not much educated nd backward as compare to OBC nd general's nd etc.. therefore government of India decided reserve constituencies in which st nd sc are given some reserved seats in less percentage as compare to others.
