The resistance is the property of the material which creates an obstruction in the flow of the current.
The resistivity is also known as specific resistance. The resistivity represents the resistance of the material which has specific dimensions, i.e., the material has 1-meter length and 1 square meter area of cross section.

hey frnd...!! here is ur answer..

The ratio of potential difference applied b/w the ends of the conductor and the current flowing through it is a constant quantity called Resistance....
I=V/R; it is obvious from this relation that
i) the current is directly proportional to potential difference
ii) the current is inversely proportional to Resistance..

The resistivity of a substance is numerically equal to the resistance if a rod of that substance which is one metre long and one square metre in cross section.
resistivity..
rho= resistance × area of cross section/ length
rho= rheostat
SI unit is ohm metre....

hope it helps!! :)
