Hii...

Resistance is an electrical property of a conductor , which opposes/resists the flow of electric current through the conductor.

Its SI unit is 'ohm' .... and it is written as 'R'.

Expression for Resistivity(also known as specific resistance) is :

R = rho× length / cross-sectional area

Hope this helps !

RESISTANCE

  1. It is the property of a conductor to resist the flow of charges through it.
  2. Its S.I unit is ohm (Ω).

R = V/I

Where,

  • R = Resistance
  • V = voltage
  • I = current.

Factors on which the resistance of a conductor depends :-

  • It depends on its length (L)
  • It depends on its cross sectional area (A)
  • It depends on the nature of material

R ∝ L/A

R = ρL/A

Where

  • "ρ" (rho) is proportionally constant known as resistivity of the material of conductor.
