\textbf{Hey there}!

\textbf{Answer}:

<b>

The resistance of a conductor depends upon the following factors:

➡It is directly proportional to the length of the conductor i.e

R \displaystyle \propto l.......( 1 )

➡It is inversely proportional to the area of cross - section of the conductor i.e

R =  \displaystyle \propto \frac{l}{A} .....( 2 )

Combining equations ( 1 ) and ( 2 ).

We get,

R =  \rho \frac{l}{A}.......( 3 )

where the constant of proportionality \rho is called 'the electrical resistivity' or specific resistance of the conductor.

Its value depends upon the nature of the material of the conductor and it's temperature.

The equation( 3 ) gives the resistance of a conductor in terms of length, area and cross section and resistivity of a material.

\underline{Units\: of\: resistivity} :

The S.I unit of resistivity is ohm metre.
