resonance :- resonance is a phenomenon in which a vibrating system or external force drives another system to oscillate with greater amplitude at specific frequencies.

eg. - Pushing a person in a swing

may this helps u

Resonance is a special case of forced vibration. When the frequency of an externally applied force on a body is equal to its natural frequency, the body vibrates with an increased amplitude. This phenomenon is called resonance.
Example:- When two tuning forks of same frequency are mounted upon two separate sound boxes such that their open ends face each other. If prong of one fork is struck, then we will find the other fork also to be vibrating with producing a large sound. This is due to resonance.
example::-Resonance in a bridge; Resonance in a stretched string and sound box of musical instruments e.t.c
