what is resonance ?write resonance structure of carbondioxide?
Answers
Answer:
Resonance describes the phenomenon of increased amplitude that occurs when the frequency of a periodically applied force (or a Fourier component of it) is equal or close to a natural frequency of the system on which it acts.
Carbon dioxide, or CO2 , has three resonance structures, out of which one is a major contributor. The CO2 molecule has a total of 16 valence electrons - 4 from carbon and 6 from each oxygen atom.
