Resource Planning Is the planning of conservation of resources by using them in an effective and efficiently way ,as the resource is limited in the Earth's surface and it takes huge time for the process of reformation.So, it is mandatory to conserve resource for the present needs as well as for the future generation too.

Various Stages involved in Resource Planning :

  • Making Inventory (stock) to store resources for present need as well as for future generation.
  • Manipulation of resources for development.E.g, how much-needed for this project in how much quantity etc.

Example : Rajasthan having lack of water resource but having enough sunlight to produce a sufficient amount of solar energy.

Ladakh has beautiful cultural heritage but lack of water resource.

Arunachal Pradesh have ample water resource but lack good infrastructure.So,here we see that uneven distribution of resources in various states of India,So, there is need for resource planning so that a balance is maintain.

  1. Identification of resources :It means finding the area where resources is available with the help of map etc.
  2. Matching the resource and examines in terms of technology ,need and economy etc
