Answer:

In lactic acid fermentation, pyruvate from glycolysis changes to lactic acid. This type of fermentation is carried out by the bacteria in yogurt, and by your own muscle cells. In alcoholic fermentation, pyruvate changes to alcohol and carbon dioxide. This type of fermentation is carried out by yeasts and some bacteria.

Respiration is the bio-chemical process in which glucose is broken down into simpler substances for cellular requirements. Cells get energy after this process.

Difference b/w alcoholic fermentation and lactic acid fermentation:-

Alcoholic:-

  1. Happens in Yeast.
  2. Occurs in normal circumstances.
  3. End products are ethanol, CO2 and ATP.

Lactic Acid:-

  1. Happens in muscles.
  2. Occurs when muscles do not get enough oxygen.
  3. End products are Lactic Acid and H2O.
