Respiration is a chemical reaction that happens in all living cells, including plant cells and animal cells. It is the way that energy is released from glucose so that all the other chemical processes needed for life can happen.
Vertebrates are the animals who have a true vertebral column and internal skeleton, allowing a completely different distribution of muscle attachment points to be used for movement. They are bilaterally symmetrical, triploblastic, coelomic and segmented, with complex differentiation of body tissues and organs.

In physiology, respiration is the movement of oxygen from the outside environment to the cells within tissues, and the removal of carbon dioxide in the opposite direction.
What are Vertebrates ?
Vertebrates are animals that have a backbone inside their body. The major groups include fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Invertebrates don't have a backbone. They either have a soft body, like worms and jellyfish, or a hard outer casing covering their body, like spiders and crabs.
