Respiration is a exothermic process in which breakdown of glucose done in order to release energy used for do any work done . It consists of glycolysis , link reaction and kreb's cycle to release 38 ATP of energy

It is an exothermic process because in this process the energy is released and ΔH = positive .

We respire because in order to perform various kind of works we need energy we can get it from respiration .

The respiration equation :

C₆H₁₂O₆     +     6O₂     →    6H₂O    +    6CO₂    +     38 ATP

Glucose      oxygen             water          carbon         Energy
                                                                 dioxide

Heya...Empress Here...

Respiration can be stated as the break down of food and various nutrients in order to release energy in animals. Respiration involves Taking of oxygen and Production of CO2 as a waste product.

Some other products produced during Respiration are Heat along with H2O.

We respire in order to live by getting energy and gases we require.

It Can also be divided into two parts..

Aerobic Respiration, where availability of oxygen is must.

And Anaerobic Respiration, where the need for air isn't necessary.

Aerobic respiration is practiced by all of the animals and Anaerobic by several bacteria.
