Respiration is the process of exchange of gases from tissues to the outside and vice versa. Oxygen is taken in while carbon dioxide is given out . It is essential because we require energy to perform each and every function of our body . The energy is provided by the breaking down of glucose inside the cells in presence of oxygen . Thus to obtain energy respiration is essential.
