Whenever one get injured or wounded,
The tissues of the injured site along with our platelets release thromoplastin. And platelet factor-III releases by the later.
Then they activates prothrombin present in plasma to thrombin along with the help of ca2+ ions.
They this thrombin catalyse the activation of fibrinogen to fibrin.
Fibrin forms thread like mesh around the wound and simultaneously dead blood cells froms red brown scum as clot.
Plasma minus clotting factors constitute serum.
Clotting time is 3 to 8 minutes.
And bleedingtime is 3 to 6 minutes.
Hence this cascade process is responsible for clotting.
