★ QUANTUM MECHANICS [ BASICS ] ★
☣ Rest mass - Rest state of any quantum particle [ electron here ] is specified in only two cases , while we say that an electron is in rest , it implies only two cases possible as →
1.) Electron is in stable orbit , it's orbiting with a definite energy , it's considered at rest because of it's stability only [ under the influence of nucleon ]
2.) When electron is at infinite distance from nucleon or proton or any positive energy density , where there is no influence of positive charge on it , it's considered to be at rest state , regardless of other factors ,
Now coming to rest mass and apparent or relativistic mass : It's generated from the above described equation , when v = 0 ; v² = 0 , then M = m , means rest mass equals to relativistic mass , ...That's all we've to deal here ,

Continuing ... from THEBRAINLY1
Now moving towards the actual results we are seeking ...
Obviously relativistic mass is greater than the rest mass ,
Enjoy yourself
