The persistence of sound in an auditorium is the result of repeated reflections of sound it is called reverberation.
It can be reduced by following methods:
1. Heavy curtains are put on doors and windows to absorb sound.
2. carpets are put on the floor to absorb sound.
3. The material having sound absorbing qualities is used for making the seats in a big hall to reduce reverberation.
