hello friend
here is your answer
in p n junction diode when +be end of the cell is connected to n type semiconductor and -be end of the cell is connected to p type semiconductor then it is known as reverse biased.in reverse condition due to attraction between oppositively charged cell and semiconductor the p type and n type semiconductor get away from each other.
so current can't pass through it .
but sometimes due to displacement of current a small amount of current can pass through it.
this is known as breakdown voltage of diode.
hope this will help you my friend
