Reverse Osmosis :- is a process in which we demineralize water by pushing it under pressure through a semi-permeable Reverse Osmosis Membrane.
Whereas Osmosis occurs naturally without energy required, to reverse the process of osmosis you need to apply energy to the more saline solution and thus it is just the reverse of osmosis and hence known as reverse osmosis.
