a process by which a solvent passes through a porous membrane in the direction opposite to that for natural osmosis when subjected to a hydrostatic pressure greater than the osmotic pressure.

Treatment cost is reduced significantly and membrane life of the reverse osmosis system is increased. The process of reverse osmosis can be used for the production of deionized water.

Hope it will help u

reverse osmosis is a process of filerating water

it is used in waste water treatment plant where waste water are allowed to pass through a semi permiable membrane where the waste are separated
