Since ammonia is a weak base, then its conjugate acid (ammonium) must be a relatively stronger acid. What that means is that your final solution after mixing in equal amounts is slightly acidic. If you mix HCl gas with gas NH3, you'll get white fumes of Ammonium Chloride (NH4Cl).
