Hey there!

- Ritcher scale was invented by an eminent seismologist Charles F. Ritcher in 1935. It was later modified by Ritcher and his colleague Beno Gutenberg in 1965.

-  The Magnitude of earthquakes is most commonly assessed by the Ritcher scale. This scale can be related to the energy released  at the earthquake centre and thus can be used as an estimate of the severity of a particular earthquake.
