The rock cycle is a process in which rocks are continuously transformed between the three rock types igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic.

MORE If the sediments are buried under further layers of sediment, they can become lithified to produce a sedimentary rock. Magma is produced when rocks are melted.

ROCK CYCLE :-

The Earth is said to be 4.5 billion years old. Obviously, rocks undergo cyclic transformation. This continuous process process of transformation of old rocks into new ones is known as rock cycle.

The cycle may also pass through the process of formation of sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks.
