Answer:

Count Paris is a vehicle in the growing plot of Shakespeare's tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet". He is a suitor of Juliet who time and again proposes to her and woos her to marry him. Juliet is disgusted by Paris and confronts her hatred towards him, only to threatened back by her parents. Her father swears to disown her and turn her into a street urchin when she refuses to marry him. Count Paris is fully dedicated and devoted to his love for Juliet.

When she feigns death, Paris sits beside her unflinching body and weeps. He wishes to be dead too and promises he will mourn her untimely death every night. Soon after, Romeo intervenes and in a fit of rage, kills Count Paris in a duel. Then he places the corpse of Paris beside Juliet.

Count Paris is an important character in this play and therefore he is remembered even today.
