Use of root pressure for plant : Root pressure helps in re-establishing the continuous chains of water molecules in the xylem. Transpirational pull maintains the flow of water molecules from the roots to shoot . When the nutrients are absorbed by root hairs, water along with minerals, increases the pressure in the xylem.

Answer:

Explanation: when cells present in the roots actively take up the ions from the soil then the concentration of ions becomes unbalanced . Then water in order to equilibrium the balance of ions moves inside the roots from a region of low concentration to a region of high concentration i.e. inside the roots. This can also be called as osmotic pressure.

Roots have millions of tiny root hairs which increases the absorptive surface area of roots . Thus it can be called as root pressure by which water and minerals move to the phloem tissue that is connected to the roots.
